DERRY — Parkland Medical Center is sponsoring a challenge for anyone hoping to make healthy changes.
A 10-week “Get Fit City Challenge” is offered for those in the Derry, Londonderry and surrounding areas who want to achieve a healthy lifestyle, lose weight and keep those good habits going.
The series focuses on weight loss, nutrition, fitness, power foods, muscle groups and much more.
Parkland staff member and health coach Deb Poggi said the “Get Fit” challenge will give everyone a chance to make those healthy changes in the new year.
“It will be a huge community challenge,” she said.
Poggi said Parkland has spent a lot of time putting on fitness and health initiatives for its own staff. Now, it’s time to continue that momentum for the community.
Information sessions are planned to introduce people to the program. There will be prizes for weight loss goals achieved and weekly weigh-ins for accountability.
The cost for the 10 weeks is $49.
Meetings will be held at convenient times at the Nutfield Building adjacent to Parkland Medical Center on Birch Street.
Poggi invites anyone interested in learning more about the “Get Fit City Challenge” to visit on Facebook or call at 703-1566.
