Blood drives scheduled in April

The American Red Cross will hold several community blood drives during the month of April.

All eligible and new blood donors are encouraged to give blood. Blood donors are needed every day to ensure an adequate blood supply for patients in need.

Come out to donate blood in April and you will have the chance to win two Boston Red Sox tickets and to be honored at Fenway Park as the Blood Donor of the Game. To make an appointment to donate blood, call (800) 733-2767 or visit redcrossblood.org.

St. Jude’s Parish will host a drive in Londonderry April 19 from 1 to 7 p.m.

Derry’s St. Thomas Aquinas will host a blood drive April 24 from 2 to 7 p.m.

Hospice training starts May 8

LONDONDERRY — Do you feel drawn to help people? Join a team of compassionate individuals who believe in helping people with a terminal diagnosis find quality, dignity, and comfort in their remaining days.

Training will take place on six consecutive evenings, starting May 8 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Free hearing screenings offered

Derry Parks and Recreation announce free hearing screenings to be held at the Marion Gerrish Community Center, 39 West Broadway. Appointments are now being taken by calling 432-6136.

Screenings include evaluation, hearing aid maintenance and cleaning, minor hearing aid repairs and doctor referrals.

All services are provided free by Christopher Streeter, licensed hearing instrument specialist. Screenings are held the first Wednesday of every month through May.
