Pet Palace open for business

DERRY — Students at Pinkerton Academy who are learning all the fine points of dog grooming are offering services including nail trimming, ear cleaning, bathing and more.

Pricing is anywhere from $18 to $30, depending on a dog’s size and breed. Students regularly take care of many Pinkerton staff dogs during the day.

Londonderry names All-State musicians

LONDONDERRY — Londonderry High School student musicians are making the grade and will attend the N.H. All-State Music Festival in April 2014.

Auditions were held in Manchester on Nov. 18. The following students will be taking part in the all-state event in band, orchestra, mixed choir or jazz events: Joe Conti, trumpet; Maddie Harper, flute; Stephen Marzik, bassoon; Matt Marzola, percussion; Caily Blatchford, alto voice; Maddie Doris, soprano voice; Kylee Quitayen, soprano voice, and Dan Cain, bass voice; Erin Conti, soprano voice; Keith Perry, guitar; Marc Lussier, bass voice; Steph Conti, alto voice; Rachel Hansen, alto voice.

Middle school hosts silent auction

LONDONDERRY — Londonderry Middle School will host a silent auction Dec. 5 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Gift baskets include themes like Family Game Night, Life’s A Beach, Taste of Italy, Movies and Munchies, and many more. All proceeds to got support student programs including guest speakers, wellness activities and entertainment.

Visiting puppets teach lessons

LONDONDERRY — North School Elementary students enjoyed a visit by a two-man puppet team representing the Red Herring Puppet group from North Carolina. The show featured characters including a stork, fox, turtle and rabbit all teaches children lessons about bullying, selfishness and the importance of getting along and being good sports.

The large, table top puppets presented Aesop’s Fables featuring the well-known stories of The Lion and The Mouse, The Tortoise and the Hare and the Stork and the Fox.
