Pinkerton college fair attracts hundreds

Students, parents gather college information

DERRY — Spring events tend to draw a crowd.

For 23 years, Pinkerton Academy has hosted the Southern New Hampshire Spring College Fair, attracting thousands of students and their families from all over the region, searching for information on colleges and universities.

The fair was held April 9 in the school’s field house, with nearly 200 colleges, universities and technical schools represented offering information on how to do a successful school search.

Schools from all over the nation are represented at the annual fair. U.S. Service Academies and the ROTC program also were there.

“Pinkerton’s spring fair is an excellent opportunity for students and their parents to explore a vast variety of colleges and universities,” Pinkerton’s guidance director Jan Deleault said. “Schools from all over the country come to our fair because it draws from many different high schools and communities.”

Students and their parents were able to chat with college representatives, gather information and ask questions about the schools. Parents also had the opportunity to explore financial aid options and talk to specialists about funding options.
