Pinkerton places in film contest

Film fans from across the state flocked to Concord Saturday to view this year’s best New Hampshire student films at the 2013 N.H. High School Short Film Festival.

Twenty-eight films representing 13 high schools around the state, as well as one film by a homeschooled student, were screened at the annual festival, which took place at N.H. Technical Institute’s Sweeney Hall.

“A Coming Out Story,” by Bedford High School’s Corey Graff, received the Jury Award for Best in Show. “Shuffle,” by Pinkerton Academy’s Alex Bourgoin, Brandon Elliott, Tyler St. Onge and James Troy, was the runner-up.

“Shuffle” also received the Audience Award. Votes for this special category were collected and tabulated at the festival.

The Jury Award and runner-up recipients will have their films screened at the New Hampshire Film Festival in Portsmouth in October and at the SNOB (Somewhat North of Boston) Film Festival in Concord in November.
