LONDONDERRY — The Londonderry School District will offer a variety of enrichment opportunities to students this summer.
Open to all levels from kindergarten through grade12, the purpose of this self-supported program is to promote student strengths in the academic areas of reading, writing, mathematics, science, and/or other electives and to expose students to new areas of interest not typically included during the regular school year.
Twenty-two different enrichment offerings promise interest for any student at any level.
Some offerings at the elementary level will include Camp Kindergarten, the popular Teddy Bear Club, Sign Language Fun for Children and more.
For primary students there is Fairy Tale Fun, Skipping into Summer, Youth Bowling League and Cup Stacking. Others include a drama production of "Abracadabra!" learning about basic cooking techniques in Cooking with Mrs. Gallagher, as well as a variety of fun-filled reading options.
At intermediate grades, students who have an appreciation of theater, music, and the arts may wish to test their talents in Calling All Broadway Kids. Students who appreciate technology, the environment or science may choose from Science Inquiry and Design: More Creating Kinetic Contraptions, Summer Fun @ Computer Camp with KidPix, Sound Editing with Audacity, Lego Robotics, Claymation: Stop Motion Animation and Nature by Design I and II.
Summer Enrichments will be held mornings and afternoons at various times and dates in schools throughout the district from June 25 to July 31.
Specific information about offerings, fees, and registration can be found at londonderry.org. It will also be available in school newsletters, through any participating teacher, at any school office throughout the district, Town Hall or Leach Library.
Registration and fees for Summer Enrichment will be collected through the Londonderry District Office through June 13.
