---- — Apply soon for music scholarship

The Manchester Choral Society announces that applications for its annual Manchester Choral Society/Richard Crafts Memorial Scholarship for $1,000 are available now at eligible schools or on the MCS website at mcsnh.org.

Applicants must presently reside in or attend high school in Manchester Bedford, Hooksett, Goffstown, Merrimack, Amherst, Derry, Londonderry, Auburn, Candia, or Litchfield with an anticipated graduation date on or before June 30, 2013. The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, a strong participation in choral music and is planning to go on to study for a career in music.

Learn to be

a ‘Super Sitter’

NASHUA — St. Joseph Hospital is offering a childcare class called Super Sitters. This class is specially designed to teach 11- to 13-year-olds what they need to know to begin child sitting.

This two and a half-hour class covers important topics such as handling an emergency, safety guidelines, basic first aid, childcare tips and techniques and how to select safe and age-appropriate toys and games. Teens will also learn how to market their services.

The class will be offered on Wednesday, Feb. 20, or Wednesday, March 13, from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at St. Joseph Hospital.

The fee is $25 and includes course material. Class size is limited.
