Hood School hosted career fair April 10
DERRY — Eighth-graders at Gilbert H. Hood Middle School took part in a career/financial education fair April 10. The event was sponsored by Service Credit Union and St. Mary’s Bank.
Students were able to circulate among booths to create a monthly spending plan. Students also learned about choosing an apartment and pay rent, purchase an auto, purchase insurance, and more.
At the end of the fair, students learned what it takes to make ends meet from month to month and will have a better appreciation of the importance of budget, financial planning and making wise purchasing choices.
