Students learn how to fold flag
DERRY — AFJROTC students at Pinkerton Academy recently honored the American flag and took part in learning proper folding techniques as part of their military flag procedures studies.
Chief Master Sgt. Charles Porter led the students, teaching them how to fold the flag and what each fold means.
Students also learned the proper presentation and raising of the flag.
Students participating included Timothy Coulon, Connor Ferris, Patrick Connolly, Jesse Groce, Michael Faraqgi and Derrick Hobbs.
CTE program fair planned for Nov. 21
DERRY — Careers are in the spotlight at Pinkerton Academy as the Career and Technical Education department hosts a program fair Nov. 21 for students during their lunch times.
The fair will be held in the Shepard Auditorium. Later that night, a CTE Career Awareness Night event will be held in the Stockbridge Theatre from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
LMS food collection continues
LONDONDERRY — Londonderry Middle School continues its food collection through Nov. 22.
Nonperishable food items can be brought to the school. Members of the Londonderry Fire Department will organize food baskets to be distributed throughout the community.
Internet safety program is Dec. 4
DERRY — Pinkerton Academy welcomes back investigator Jennifer Frank for a presentation on Dec. 4.
She will offer information on Internet safety to the freshman and sophomore classes during the day. In the evening, Frank will offer a free session for parents from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Academy Building’s lecture hall.
Enjoy breakfast with Santa
LONDONDERRY — South Londonderry Elementary School PTA hosts its annual Breakfast with Santa on Dec. 7 from 8 to 11 a.m.
There will be pancakes, raffles, a gift shop, photos with Santa, candy cane walk and much more. All are invited to attend. South School is located at 88 South Road.
