DERRY — Students at South Range Elementary School got a taste of the outdoors even on a bleak, rainy day as the school celebrated with a barbecue.
The event was held June 5 and included all classes for lunchtime meal of hamburgers, hot dogs, watermelon and dessert treats.
Adding to the fun, students got to see principal Matt Olsen don an apron to take on grilling duties throughout the day.
The barbecue is one of several year-end events the school is planning.
Other activities coming up include field days, a luau and a volunteer celebrations.
The last day of school in Derry is June 15.
