EDUCATION BRIEFS

Pets enjoy the holidays

DERRY — Pinkerton Academy’s Animal Science program got into the holiday spirit and hosted a pet photo session with Santa Claus on Dec. 20.

Students took photos of pets wanting to meet Santa and then emailed the photos to owners, with proceeds going to support the Salem Animal Rescue League and the animals that currently are part of the Pinkerton animal program.

After pets had their photos taken, they received treat bags to take home for the holidays.

CTE student of the month named

DERRY — The Derry Village Rotary Club has named Jacque Greazzo its CTE Student of the Month.

Every month, Rotarians honor a student in the Career and Technical Education program at Pinkerton.

Greazzo hopes to study architecture through a five-year college program and someday be a licensed architect.

She is a four-year winter track athlete and also a member of Pinkerton’s Students for Environmental Action group. She is participating in an internship at WireBelt Corporation.
