Scholarship available from Simon Youth

Simon Youth Foundation will be awarding a college scholarship to a local student.

The foundation, formed in conjunction with Simon Property Group, is a national nonprofit organization that provides scholarships to at-risk high school students. Simon Property Group manages The Mall at Rockingham Park in Salem.

Any student who lives within 50 miles of the mall and will graduate in 2014 is eligible. The deadline to apply for up to $1,500 is Jan. 11.

Scholarship applications are available at the Simon Guest Services Center at the mall. Applications can also be downloaded from the Simon Youth Foundation website at Syf.org/our-initiatives/scholarships/community-application.

Students join Academy of Finance

DERRY — Fifteen Pinkerton Academy students were inducted into the Academy of Finance at Southern New Hampshire University. The Pinkerton students were among 59 of the new inductees and were joined by 160 employers, educators and parents attending the recent ceremony.

Pinkerton inductees are: Ryan Collins, Broderick Desjardins, Jesse Desrosiers, Caitlin Dyer, Jeff Graham, Elizabeth Hicks, John McGrath, Johanna Morse, Matt O’Brien, Abby Plummer, Hunter Robillard, Kyle Ross, Nicole Saitta, Briana Simonelli and Steven Zuidema.
