DERRY — Not having enough snow this month put a bit of a damper on some Frost Festival activities, but the schedule for the annual cold weather weekend still offered something for everyone.
Frost Festival weekend kicked off Friday night with a free senior citizen spaghetti supper, hosted by the Derry Village Rotary Club.
Seniors gathered at Gilbert H. Hood Middle School to enjoy a few games of bingo before being served a pasta meal.
Throughout the weekend, other locations around town offered chili samples animal shows, arts and crafts, and the annual crowning of the Frost Festival King and Queen.
Ice Breakers experts carved massive ice blocks into detailed sculptures at the former Depot Square restaurant on Broadway, soon to be home to Sabatino's North Italian restaurant.
All in all, organizers said the weekend was a successful one, with or without snow.
