Area Scouts will be taking to the roads in local communities for the annual Scouting for Food collection drive.
The annual drive is held the first two Saturdays in November and helps support local food pantries and soup kitchens.
On Nov. 2, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venture crews and troop leaders, and Girl Scouts will deliver official Scouting for Food collection bags to homes around the area.
Families and individuals can fill the bags and place them back outside near doors or entrances to be picked up by Scouts the following Saturday, Nov. 9.
Food can also be delivered to Derry or Londonderry fire stations that day to be distributed to local food organizations.
Scouts will collect the food and sort all items before distribution. Thousands of food items have been collected during Scouting for Food drives.
