Tech petting zoo

Derry Public Library hosts another technology “petting zoo” event on Oct. 24, when people are invited to stop by and try devices including iPads, Kindles and Nooks.

The event runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Call the library at 432-6140 for information.

Caregivers host event

Community Caregivers of Greater Derry hosts a gala and silent auction event to celebrate the organization’s 25th anniversary. The event will be held Oct. 24 at Zorvino Vineyards in Sandown.

The gala begins at 5:30 p.m. and includes a three-course meal with vineyard wines. Keynote speaker is John Clayton, author and columnist.

The silent auction includes Disney day passes, signed memorabilia, gift certificates, gift baskets and artwork. Tickets are $30 and are available by calling 432-0877 or stopping by the Caregivers office at 58 East Broadway. A complete list of sponsors and auction items is available at comcaregivers.org.

Dress up your dogs

Handel With Care Veterinary Hospital, 33 Crystal Ave., will host a Halloween event for pets on Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Pets can come in all dressed up for Halloween to have photos taken. Special prizes will be awarded to the best costumes. Call 432-1404.

Dueling pianos to play

The Derry Rotary Club hosts “Dueling Pianos” on Oct. 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Derry. The show is open to all and features Davina Yannetty and Craig McMahon, who will take requests from the audience and play in sequence or together, or in competition with each other.

Tickets can be purchased individually or for multiple seating at 10 per table. Drinks and snacks will be available. All proceeds will benefit local charities.

Get rid of unwanted drugs

Derry Police host a drug take-back event on Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the police station parking lot on Municipal Drive.
