Arrest warrant issued for Derry administrator

DERRY — An arrest warrant was issued this afternoon for Town Administrator John Anderson on indecent exposure and lewd behavior charges.

Anderson, who was suspended with pay by the Town Council last month, is accused of exposing himself to a salesman at his home in July, according to Rockingham County James Reams.

The Town Council has scheduled a meeting for 4 p.m. at Town Hall to discuss the matter and Anderson's future with the town.

Anderson could face up to a year in jail on each of the two misdemeanor charges, Reams said. State police launched an investigation of allegations against Anderson last month before recently turning the case over to Reams' office.

Reams said he would decide by this week if his office would file charges against Anderson, who has been Derry's town administrator since 2010.

Reams said he did not know when Anderson would be arrested, possibly not until next week. Anderson's attorney is speaking with authorities to determine when Anderson would turn himself in, Reams said.
