With a few days of heavy rain recently, the nearby pond’s levels were quite high and work was put on hold as the water topped the dam.

“The rains we had brought water level up quite quickly,” Anderson said. “But our repairs so far have held.”

Town crews discovered some significant structural damage at the dam last month after residents noticed extremely swift water surges near the structure. A hole was discovered and state officials, along with town crews and American Excavating contractors, are working to complete the repairs.
