DERRY — Derry Community Television announces two new series to be added to the public access channel lineup.
“The Legislators Lounge” and “Business Matters” will feature local state legislators as hosts and guests.
Reps. Jim Webb and Brian Chirichiello will host “The Legislators’ Lounge.” They said they envision a show that will be interactive. They will ask viewers to send in comments, questions and show ideas through derrylounge.com.
They will invite some state leaders to present information on nonpartisan issues affecting Derry and the state.
The first show in the series will be on the topic of gambling and is scheduled to be filmed March 15. The duo invited Sens. Jim Rausch, R-Derry, and Chuck Morse, R-Salem, to be guests.
“Business Matters” will be hosted by Stacey Bruzzese, executive director of the Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce. She said she hopes to highlight businesses in Derry and the surrounding area that belong to the chamber.
“The monthly show will provide insight into Chamber offerings and events, while providing much needed visibility for our member businesses,” Bruzzese said. “From big business to entrepreneur, from local merchant to nonprofit entity, there are so many local organizations out there working hard to be the best at what they do. To be able to highlight those businesses that provide great products, outstanding service and responsible community giveback will be an honor and a service to the community.”
Bruzzese encourages viewers to contact the Chamber office with comments and suggestions for upcoming episodes.
Derry cable system coordinator Chris Martin is hopeful the new programs will encourage more people to tune into the public access channel on a regular basis. The public access channel is Channel 23 for Comcast subscribers in Derry.
Martin and cable employee Kimberley Haas also report that the “New Hampshire Driving Toward Zero” series has been a tremendous success. Haas is a reporter and video producer in the cable department.
