Learn all about floral design
The Derry Garden Club meets April 5 at 10 a.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Derry, 40 Hampstead Road.
The program is “Floral Designs” by Linda Pare, designer and member of the American Floral Institute of Floral Designers. The public is welcome to attend.

Seniors, join walking program
Derry Parks and Recreation offers a senior walking program for adults 50 years of age and older.
Walking takes place at Veterans Hill gym, 31 West Broadway. Session times are Mondays, 8:15 to 9 a.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:15 to 9:30 a.m.; and Wednesdays and Fridays, noon to 1 p.m.

Senior citizen potluck planned
A senior citizen potluck is planned on March 28 from noon to 2 p.m. at Alexander-Carr Lodge, 28 Pierce Ave.
The potluck is hosted by Derry Parks and Recreation and features springtime treats and activities. All guests are asked to bring a dish to share.
Admission is free, but is limited to adults 50 and older. Tickets are required for the lunch by calling the recreation office at 432-6136 or stopping by the office Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
‘Best Breakfast’ series continues
First Parish Church in East Derry hosts its “Best Breakfast” every Sunday from 7 to 9 a.m. through May 19 at the church on East Derry Road.
The menu includes eggs any style, omelets, pancakes, hash browns, home fries, beverages, cereal and much more. The cost is $6.95 for adults, $5.50 for children 12 and under and 62 and older.

Household hazardous event planned
Derry hosts a Spring Household Hazardous Waste Day on May 11 from 9 a.m. to noon at West Running Brook Middle School
Residents needing to dispose of pesticides or herbicides, oil-based paints, paint remover or thinner, solvents/degreasers, household cleaners, pool chemicals and old gasoline and antifreeze can bring them to the event for safe disposal.
