Derry Public Library offers big list of teen events

DERRY — The library is not just for those who read books.

Patrons of all ages come to the library for computer help, genealogy work and special events, including teens who now have a wide variety of events to call their own.

Teens at the library now have their own “Teen Space” and can participate in their own advisory group to earn volunteer hours and also enjoy a teen writers group. Learning to cook is also available in a teen cooking session and students can also come to the library to study for their SAT tests.

The following is a list of teen activities planned at the library:

Teen Cooking Club: March 14, 28; April 11 and 25, and May 9, 3 to 4 p.m.

Manga Madness Anime Club: March 12, April 9 and May 7, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Teen Writers Group: March 13, 27; April 10 and 24, May 8, 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Teen Advisory Group: March 6, April 3, May 1, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

In addition to the teen activities, the library invites everyone to stop by for “Cafe Days” every other Tuesday beginning March 5, to enjoy tea, coffee and chai lattes while sharing tips on writing, favorite books, art or anything else. All are welcome to attend.
