Derry adult studies has something for everyone

---- — DERRY — Anyone hoping to learn a new computer skill, brush up on their ballroom dancing, or even learn to cook a German meal can find it through the Derry Center for Adult Studies.

The popular adult education program is ready to roll for its spring session with classes set to begin the week of Jan. 28

Registration is now underway for classes offered this term, including fitness, international cooking, piano, guitar, art, ballroom dancing and technology.

Classes meet at various locations around town, including Gilbert H. Hood Middle School, West Running Brook Middle School, Ernest P. Barka Elementary School and Derry Village Elementary School.

Classes this spring include computer skills, dance, wellness, art, foreign languages, Italian, German and Mexican cooking, astrology, landscape design and “Instant Piano for Hopelessly Busy People.”

Adult basic education and GED preparation courses also are offered.

Instructors come from a wide range of professional careers and include artists, musicians, teachers and other life skill experts, all ready to teach what they know and help others learn.

Students must be 18 years of age to enroll in the program.

In-person registration will be held Jan. 17 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Gilbert H. Hood Middle School. Registration can also be done by mail and forms are available at the school superintendents’s office, 18 South Main St. Discounts are available for early registrations.
