Upper Room hosts fourth annual costume drive

Annual event helps support families

DERRY — It’s never too early to start thinking of that favorite Halloween costume.

The Upper Room wants to make sure everyone has the perfect look this year.

The family resource center on Tsienneto Road hosts its fourth annual costume drive and is seeking donations of infant, child and teen costumes.

Lightly used and new costumes and props will be accepted at locations around Derry.

“This is the fourth year we’ve run our costume drive and we’re always pleased to provide costumes for the families we serve,” Upper Room executive director Kimberly Bavaro said.

She said a simple outfit can often be a huge gift to a child in need.

“A Halloween costume may not seem like much in terms of a financial investment, but it means the world to a child who would otherwise have gone without,” Bavaro said. “Above all, we’re helping families create positive experiences and lasting memories.”

Drop-off boxes are located at:

The Upper Room, 36 Tsienneto Road, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Costume Gallery, 11 1/2 East Broadway, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
