Upper Room plans annual benefit

Derry News

---- — DERRY — The Upper Room hosts its annual benefit auction “Live From the Red Carpet” to support the family resource center’s programs and missions.

The gala benefit is set for Nov. 2 at Promises To Keep in Derry.

This is the 11th year for the benefit.

The night includes food prepared by local restaurants, a silent and live auction, prizes and raffles.

Auction items include Red Sox memorabilia, diamond earrings, a trip to Jackson, theater and dinner packages, gift certificates to area business and restaurants, and much more.

A new feature this year is the Upper Room’s “Fund a Family” opportunity. For a $200 contribution, approximately 200 families will be supported through the Upper Room through educational programs, employment services and nutritious food.

“We are all looking forward to holding our auction this year,” Upper Room executive director Kimberly Bavaro said. “At over 200 guests, this event has sold out for the last 10 years and we’re expecting the same turnout this year.”

Bavaro said the gala’s continued success is a testament to the Upper Room’s value in the community and the importance of fostering a positive dynamic for the families it serves.

Tickets are $35 per person for the gala. The event begins at 6 p.m. For information or tickets, visit urteachers.org.
