The great divide
Where is East Broadway? Or West Broadway?
Resident Al Dimmock wants something in place to help people going downtown to see where the street is officially divided.
“The sign could be done with no problem whatsoever,” Dimmock told town councilors.
Town Administrator John Anderson said the sign would be taken care of.
Changing of the guard
While Derry Town Councilor Neil Wetherbee fills in as chairman of the Town Council while Brad Benson is on a medical leave, one resident likes the change, but misses Benson.
“It’s nice to see your smiling face up there, Neil,” Al Dimmock said at a recent meeting, “but I’m in hopes Brad will soon be well enough to come back and take over, so don’t get handy on that seat.”
A Gulf gas station employee called police when he saw a green Chevrolet Lumina hit a telephone pole.
The employee soon called back to report he saw a woman run from the car, wearing red pajamas. She ran off into the woods near Derry and Auburn Roads.
Police did end up catching her.
If I have to ...
When the Londonderry Elder Affairs Committee had to reappoint some members last week, secretary Daniel Lekos was not enthusiastic about his position.
“I guess I have no choice,” he said. “But I may keep improperly faxing papers on purpose.”
