Holiday festivities are in full swing around our towns.
East Derry Village Improvement Society hosted its annual tree lighting ceremony at the historic Upper Village Hall on Saturday. The Londonderry Rotary held its tree lighting on the Town Common on Sunday night with Girl Scout troops singing carols. Saturday night's snowfall added a magical touch to the festivities.
Matthew Thornton Elementary School held its Winter Wonderland and Breakfast with Santa on Saturday morning.
Etz Hayim Synagogue in Derry is planning a full schedule of events and celebrations including a Hanukkah party and latke contest on Dec. 15.
Chester Congregational Church hosted their annual Christmas in the Village holiday fair on Saturday and the Derry Dance Center was busy practicing for the holiday classic "The Nutcracker" to be performed on Dec. 12 at 2 and 7 p.m. at the Adams Memorial Opera House in downtown Derry. Tickets are $10 in advance/$12 at the door. Call for information at 432-7174.
