Pinkerton Players present 'You Can't Take it With You'
DERRY — The Pinkerton Players are hard at work rehearsing for their fall production of the Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy "You Can't Take it With You," set for Nov. 12, 13, and 14 at Pinkerton's Stockbridge Theatre.
The classic American play, by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, involves the zany Sycamore family, a bunch of free-spirited artists and oddball entrepreneurs who want to impress daughter Alice's new boyfriend and his parents who are coming to dinner.
Alice's family agrees to act "normal" while the visitors are there, but when the prospective in-laws show up on the wrong night, all bets are off.
The show is under the direction of veteran Pinkerton staff Ann West with a cast of students taking on the roles of the fun Sycamore family and the others involved in the craziness.
Performances are set for Nov. 12, 13, and 14 at 7 p.m. Tickets are priced at $8 for adults/$6 for seniors and students and are available through the Stockbridge Theatre box office or by calling 437-5210. Visit the Stockbridge online at www.stockbridgetheatre.com.
