DERRY — The Upper Room is celebrating another successful fundraising auction.
The nonprofit group’s 12th annual auction, with “A Night in Paris” theme, earned the family resource center $61,000.
The event featured live and silent auctions, with proceeds going to support Upper Room programs and services.
“We could not have raised this much money without the help of our supporters who donated time, money and resources,” said Kimberly Bavaro, executive director of The Upper Room. “Simply speaking, we felt the love in the room that night. We are so grateful to be able to utilize those dollars to help those in our community who need it most.”
Bavaro said everyone who placed bids on the 280 auction items also deserves thanks.
During the auction, guests also took part in the “Fund A Family”, through which a $250 donation will go directly to support one family throughout the year with programs and services.
“We are so appreciative,” Bavaro said. “We can’t wait to do it all again next year.”
The Upper Room is located on Tsienneto Road and offers education programs to families and individuals needing support. Visit urteachers.org for information.
