Londonderry, Pinkerton teams advance to state finals

Over the past two weekends, more than 2,000 of the Granite State's most creative kids competed in challenges that tested their problem-solving skills, creativity and teamwork at the Destination Imagination competitions. The solutions used technology, architecture, robotics, literature, science, math and the arts, and were strictly student-solved.

After Saturday's competition at Timberlane Regional High School in Plaistow, teams from Pinkerton Academy and Londonderry High advanced to the state meet on March 27 in Nashua.

Londonderry High School also took home three awards last weekend: the DaVincI Award for outstanding creativity, the Renaissance Award for outstanding design, engineering, execution and performance, and the Spirit of Discovery and ImagiNation Award for spirit, sportsmanship and volunteerism.

Londonderry High won first place Saturday in the DIrect DIposit, You're Gonna Flip!, and Breaking DI News challenges. Pinkerton Academy took first place in the Do or DI challenge. Londonderry High also took second and third place in the Do or DI challenge. All three Londonderry elementary schools competed as well, but are not moving on to finals.
