Derry Community Television offers training

Derry News

---- — DERRY — Derry’s Community Television is offering a summer program to train anyone wanting to get involved in the life of the local channel.

Free summer media workshops are being offered to help teach volunteers how to operate the equipment, plan new programming and work behind the scenes.

Workshops will also offer certification in certain areas of production, including Portable Video, Studio Production, Post Production, and Portable Production Studio.

Anyone interested in getting involved must show proof of Derry residency and also must be a Comcast subscriber.

Anyone taking the workshops will be part of an orientation process prior to the start of the programs. All workshops are free.

There will be two sessions this summer. Session I is held July 10 to Aug. 7 and Session 2 is Aug. 7 to Sept. 18.

All training will equip participants to learn everything needed to produce a show, including studio setup, camera operation and editing.

Space is limited to six participants per session. Once class if full, names will be placed on a waiting list.
