Story hour registration set

Taylor Library is now accepting registrations for its fall story hour schedule. Times for story times are: Tiny Tot, Monday and Friday, 10 a.m., children ages 6 months to 2 years; story time for ages 2 to 5 is held Wednesdays at 10 a.m. and again at 1 p.m. This includes two stories and a craft.

Call the library to register for story hours as space fills fast. Call 432-7186. Programs begin Sept. 8.

Tech petting zoo planned for Aug. 29

Anyone wanting to learn more about technology devices like Kindles, Nooks, iPads, etc. can attend Derry Public Library’s “Tech Petting Zoo” on Aug. 29 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Devices will be available to look at, try, and find out more about. Call the library for information at 432-6140.

Cable volunteers honored

Derry Community Television hosts a volunteer appreciation event on Aug. 30 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Alexander-Carr Park of Pierce Avenue.

The local station will honor those who have produced shows or worked behind the scenes. There will be hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks. Call for information at 845-5515.

Flower show date is set

Derry Garden Club hosts its Standard Flower Show on Sept. 7 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Derry, 40 Hampstead Road. There will be unique designs and educational exhibits. Admission is free. Call for information at 434-0578 or call 434-0578

4-H needs members

The Derry Nutfield 4-H Hunt Club is looking for new members between the ages of 8 and 18. After a break for the summer, the club is starting again on Sept. 3 from 7 to 8 p.m.. at the Marion Gerrish Community Center on West Broadway.

The Nutfield 4-H Hunt Club, part of the Rockingham County 4-H, is an equestrian club, but members do not need to own a horse. Club members meet the first and third Tuesday of each month at the community center.
