DERRY — Town crews will start work on Sept. 3 to construct a new bridge and install water, sewer and drainage utilities on Rockingham Road.
The work is part of the town’s overall project to bring water and sewer to areas on Rockingham Road to try to boost economic development.
Work will close sections of Rockingham Road between Bradford Street and Winter Hill Road until the end of November.
Detour signs and dynamic message boards will be posted to help motorists navigate during construction.
Rockingham Road will be closed 24 hours a day, seven days a week until the new bridge is installed and in service.
Local residents will have access to their homes through other neighborhood streets.
Detours will direct motorists to alternate routes including: from Birch Street, Windham Road to Berry Road to rejoin Route 28; from Route 28/Bypass 28 intersection, follow Bypass 28 through rotary to Route 102 to rejoin Route 28 in downtown Derry.
Construction updates are available throughout the work on the town’s website at derrynh.org.
