DERRY — The Upper Room, a family resource center in Derry, is planning its 12th annual Family Matters Auction.
This year’s theme is “A Night in Paris” and is set for Nov. 1 at Promises to Keep in Derry.
The event is expected to auction off more than 150 items with both live and silent auctions.
There will also be food, drinks, raffles, games and Parisian-themed entertainment.
Since The Upper Room began its popular benefit night 12 years ago, it’s usually a sell-out, so tickets should be purchased in advance.
“We know committing to an event that is several months away can sometimes be difficult, but our Family Matters auctions always sell out, so we don’t want anyone to miss out at the last minute,” Upper Room executive director Kimberly Bavaro said. “That’s why we have developed a ticket incentive this year.”
That incentive is for anyone who purchases a ticket prior to Oct. 15, one free entry into the grand prize raffle is given.
Buy 10 tickets and get 10 raffle entries.
Bavaro would not reveal yet what the grand prize is.
“A Night in Paris” also gives local businesses many sponsorship opportunities. Current sponsors are Pinkerton Academy, Hampshire First Bank, Ma’s Italian Biscotti, Parkland Medical Center, Promises to Keep and WBIN-TV.
Donations are always accepted to support the Family Matters benefit, including monetary donations and items for the live and silent auction. Donors are recognized in the evening’s official program.
Tickets for “A Night in Paris” are $35 per person and are available at urteachers.org/involved-auction.html.
