DERRY — Taylor Library announces its summer schedule of events for 2013.
The library in East Derry hosts a big list of story times, special events and returning favorites for the summer lineup.
The following are a sampling of some Taylor events set for this summer:
July 11: Carnival Night. Come to the library and play many games of chance and win prizes. The fun starts at 6:30 p.m. The carnival will be held in the library’s parking lot and will be cancelled in case of rain. Register early.
July 16: “Dolly and Me” tea party is held. Sip juice from a real teacup and eat some fancy cakes and sandwiches. There will be stories and crafts. Wear fancy dresses or other attire and have dolls dress up, too. Program is for ages 5 and up.
July 25: A teddy bear sleepover event is held at 6:30 p.m. Bring teddy bears, other stuffed friends. Children can wear their pajamas and hear stories about bears. Teddy bears can then sleep over the library.
July 31: Children’s entertainer Wayne from Maine sings at MacGregor Park at 6:30 p.m. The show is for ages 3 and up. Bring lawn chairs, bug spray and blankets.
Aug. 8: Taylor Library closing night ceremony and awards. Awards given for summer reading success, and winners of the jelly bean contest will be named. Drinks and cake served.
In addition to these special summer events, Taylor Library also hosts story hours for 2- and 3-year-olds on Mondays at 10 a.m. beginning July 8; 4- and 6-year-olds on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. beginning July 10; and craft classes on Wednesdays at 3 p.m. beginning July 10.
