Derry has some town, school races

DERRY — Longtime incumbents and newcomers have thrown their names in the hat, hoping to win town and school district positions.

The filing period ended Feb. 3.

Rep. Phyllis Katsakiores, John O'Connor, David Thompson all are seeking the Councilor-at-Large position, a three-year term. Richard Tripp and Michael Fairbanks running for the three-year Town Council District 1 seat.

Fairbanks' wife, Janet, is the current District 1 councilor and is not seeking re-election.

Kevin Coyle, current Councilor-at-Large, also is not running.

Coyle instead hopes to oust longtime Town Moderator Margie Ives and will run for that job.

Other candidates for town office include longtime incumbent Roland Routhier and Mary Till, vying for one six-year position for Supervisor of the Checklist; Derry Public Library trustees, two three-year positions open, incumbents Jack Robillard and Charles Zoeller; Taylor Library trustee, one three-year position, incumbent Pamela Otis.

No one filed for the open Trustee of the Trust Fund position.

On the school side, incumbent School Board member Neal Ochs and Jennifer Lague seek the two three-year seats.

Incumbent Roger Konstant will go up against Tom Cardon for the school district moderator job.

Town and school elections are held March 13.
