Enjoy 13th season of Concerts on the Common

(Continued)

June 25: Manchuka is an exciting 10-piece dance band consisting of a full rhythm section, a full horn section and two lead singers. The seasoned musicians in this group provide light jazz, big band swing and high energy dance music from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. The diverse backgrounds of Manchuka bring together many influences from the past and blend them with a new and contemporary feel. The bad weather location is the Londonderry High School cafeteria.

There will not be a concert July 2.

July 9: The Evan Goodrow Band owns Motown, jazz, blues and dance influences that bleed out in both their songwriting formats and jamming abilities. It’s a lot of sound for three guys. The bad weather location is the Londonderry High School cafeteria.

July 16: Jon Abrams is known for performing as lead singer and pianist in the touring production of Broadway’s “Movin’ Out,” the musical featuring 26 Billy Joel songs. Jon and the Jon Abrams Band bring an authenticity to classic pop and rock. The bad weather location is the Londonderry High School cafeteria.

July 23: Blues Brothers Next Generation is a 10-piece band, including a horn section. Hear the fabulous Blues Brothers songs played the way they should be played. They arrive in the “Bluesmobile” and the fun doesn’t end there. This band both sounds great and is a blast to watch in concert. The bad weather location is the Londonderry High School cafeteria.

July 30: Recording artists Ken Yates and Brian Dunne return for the third summer. Dunne was part of Boston’s music scene for many years before moving to New York City. His pop/rock style is widely influenced by Sam Cooke, Tom Waits and Bruce Springsteen. A simplicity and devotion to his music-making craft are what makes his music so authentic. Yates went to Berklee School of Music and just came out with a new CD. The bad weather location is the Londonderry High School cafeteria.
