DERRY — An Auburn woman took the crown in the 68th annual 2014 Miss New Hampshire Scholarship Competition Saturday at Pinkerton Academy’s Stockbridge Theatre.
Miss Greater Derry Megan Cooley, 19, won the title from a field of 28 contestants representing communities all over the state.
Cooley walked away with approximately $13,000 in scholarship money.
She will now compete at the Miss America competition in September.
Cooley is a student at the University of New Hampshire and performed a vocal as her talent to the song “On My Way.”
The first runner-up was Holly Blanchard of Derry, Miss Greater Plaistow; second runner-up was Rylee Field, Miss Auburn; third runner-up was Nicole Iacuzio, also of Derry, Miss Monadnock Region; and fourth runner-up was Michelle Mayer, Miss Strafford County, of Londonderry.
