---- — Flea market planned Saturday

St. Luke’s United Methodist Church at 63 East Broadway will host its seventh annual flea market on April 27 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church.

The sale is held rain or shine; proceeds benefit St. Luke’s and its general fund. Parking is available in the municipal lot across the street from the church.

Miss NH competition set

The 67th annual Miss New Hampshire Scholarship Competition takes place April 25-27 at the Stockbridge Theatre at Pinkerton Academy.

Tickets can be purchased for the competition and after-party gala at the Miss New Hampshire Scholarship Program office, 20 East Broadway, or by calling 437-9027.

The preliminary competitions on April 25 and 26 begin at 7 p.m.; tickets are $10. The final competition is at 6 p.m. on April 27; tickets range from $20 to $50.

Kids will cast their lines

The Derry Lions Club hosts its annual fishing derby on May 4 from 8 a.m. to noon at Hood Pond.

Youngsters ages 3 to 15 years old are invited to participate. Awards and trophies are given for various categories. Participation ribbons will be given to the first 100 participants.

Garden club has annual meeting

The Derry Garden Club hosts its annual meeting at Promises to Keep on Route 28 on May 3 at 11 a.m.

New officers will be installed. The club is also planning its annual plant sale on May 18 at the Masonic Lodge on East Broadway.

Seniors, see a free movie

The Marion Gerrish Community Center offers a free move for seniors on April 26 at noon.

The movie offered this month is “Invincible.” Popcorn and soda are provided. All seniors are invited to attend.

Drug collection planned April 27

Anyone wishing to get rid of unwanted or expired prescription drugs can come to a “Take Back” drug collection effort on April 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hood Commons.

The national event is hosted by the Derry Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Derry police also have a permanent collection box for used prescriptions in the lobby at the station on Municipal Drive. The box is available 24 hours a day.

CLM hosts benefit concert

Hotel California, an Eagles tribute band, is featured in a benefit concert hosted by Center for Life Management. The concert is May 3 at the Stockbridge Theatre at Pinkerton Academy.

A silent auction begins the night at 6 p.m. with the concert to follow at 7 p.m. Concert tickets are $30 for adults, $20 for seniors and students. They are available through the Stockbridge box office or by calling 437-5210. Tickets are also available online at stockbridgetheatre.com.

Kids Coop presents ‘Seussical’

Kids Coop Theatre presents “Seussical the Musical” on May 17 at 7 p.m. and again on May 18 at 1 and 7 p.m. at the Derry Opera House, 29 West Broadway.

Tickets are available at kids-coop-theatre.org. The cost is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and students. Group discounts area available in advance by emailing admin@kids-coop-theatre.org.

Reserve tickets for Taste of the Town

The Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce host its “Taste of the Town” May 23 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Aviation Museum of New Hampshire, 27 Navigator Road, Londonderry.
