Don Ball Park opens June 20
Don Ball Park on Humphrey Road opens for the summer season on June 20. The park operates from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting.
The park offers a SplashPad and playground. Children must be at least 13 years of age to attend park without adult supervision. All groups must register at the Recreation office.

VFW collects tattered flags through June 21
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1617 will collect old, unwanted flags through June 21.
VFW members will then give the flags a proper disposal. Flags can be dropped off at the post home, 18 Railroad Ave.
Free community meals to continue
Free meals continue in town as part of the free community meal network.
Upcoming meals include dinner served at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, June 21, 5 p.m.; lunch at Seventh Day Adventist Church, June 22, noon; dinner at Etz Hayim Synagogue, June 22, 5 p.m.
Summer reading program begins
Derry Public Library officially begins its summer reading program June 23.
Children can log the number of books read all summer and also enjoy a schedule of special events for this year’s program theme, “Fizz! Boom! Read!”

Air show partners with Sonshine
The sixth annual New England Radio Control Airplane Fly-In is June 21-22 at the N.H. Flying Tigers airfield on B Street.
Spectators are asked to bring a nonperishable food item for admission to support the Sonshine Soup Kitchen in Derry.
The event features a variety of aircraft, including helicopters, aerobatic planes and scale models. People can watch the radio control pilots fly and also try their hand at flying.
In addition to flying, the public can enjoy food, displays and raffles.
