Derry has race for town clerk job

---- — DERRY — Town Clerk Denise Neale has been on the job for seven years. She wants to continue for another three-year term.

Former town councilor Janet Fairbanks hopes to oust Neale March 12.

Neale said she wants to continue caring for the town’s records and documents, and making sure the office runs efficiently.

Fairbanks cited her bookkeeping and Town Council experience as qualifications for the job.

She credited Neale for doing a good job, but said it was time to “throw her hat into the ring.”
