Local Rainbow Girls are recognized

---- — DERRY — Derry Assembly 15 Rainbow Girls sent eight girls and 10 adults to a recent “Let’s Go Retro With NH Rainbow” Grand Assembly session, with local members earning awards.

Four girls from Derry also participated as Grand Officers during the sessions: Jennifer Messina, Grand Charity; Cynthia Sprince, Grand Treasurer; Samantha Brown, Grand Nature and Historian; and Cassey Vallerand, Grand Confidential Observer.

The Derry Assembly also earned awards for Assembly Scrapbook, second place; Program Ad Sales, third place; Girls Travel Awards, first and second place; Assembly Travel Award, second place; Ritual Competition Award, less than three years as member, Brooke Thomson, second place; Ritual Competition Award, Super Seven, Amanda Thomson, third place; Ritual Competition Award, Super Seven, Cynthia Sprince, first place; drill competition, first place, Record Album Cover, second place; and 1960s Representation at Officials Visitation, second place.

Derry Assembly members for the upcoming term are Jennifer Messina, Grand Worthy Associate Advisor; Samantha Brown, Grand Charity; Cynthia Sprince, Grane Religion; Cassey Vallerand, Grand Immortality and Honored Station; Catie Brown, Grand Service; Amanda Thomson, Grand Representative to Massachusetts and Minnesota/Iowa; Grand Rainbow Flag Bearer; and Brook Thomson, Grand Representative to Canada and Illinois.

Rainbow is a nonprofit youth organization for girls ages 11-21 and affiliated with the Masonic order.
