Daffodil Days benefit cancer research

DERRY — Parkland Medical Center teams up with a sign of spring in the fight against cancer.

The Derry hospital teams up with the American Cancer Society for its annual Daffodil Days campaign to help people stay healthy while helping find a cure for cancer.

"Daffodil Days has been a great addition to our community service activities. It has given us the opportunity to give back to the community and has been a great example of how everyone can get involved in the process of helping others," Parkland Medical Center CEO Tina Legere said.

Money raised through Daffodil Days helps the American Cancer Society offer free programs and services that help people fight cancer, while providing physical and emotional support and financial information to ease the cancer experience. Daffodil money also supports ground-breaking cancer research, cancer prevention and treatment, education and advocacy for public health policies in communities.

For information about Daffodil Days or to order flowers, contact the American Cancer Society at 1-800-227-2345 or www.cancer.org/daffodils. Orders are accepted through March 5. Delivery takes place the week of March 22.
