The Derry Farmers Market ends its warm season run on Sept. 26 with a Fall Community Harvest event from 3 to 7 p.m. at 14 Manning St.
More than 20 vendors will be on hand with produce and other seasonal offerings. Musical entertainment is provided by Karen Lincoln.

Learn pet CPR
and first aid
Parks and Recreation sponsors a pet CPR and first aid course on Oct. 20 from noon to 4 p.m. at Alexander-Carr Lodge, 28 Pierce Ave.
The certification course is a hands-on approach to pet care in case of an emergency and is led by April Begosh, certified pet first aid expert.
Upon completion, participants will receive two certifications in pet first aid and CPR. Participants must be 12 years of age or older.
The cost is $65 per person, covering materials, workbooks and an emergency muzzle. A portion of the proceeds go to support the Derry Dog Park.
Registrations are accepted until Oct. 12 or until the course is full. Visit derry-nh.us for information.
Youth center opens
Trinity Assembly of God, 53 North Main St., offers an after-school youth center. TAG is now open for teens to stop by and enjoy games, food, friends and homework time.
The center is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 5 p.m. and is for students in grades 9 through 12. Call 434-0408.
Foxwoods trip planned
Parks and Recreation host a trip to Foxwoods Resort Casino on Nov. 12. The trip is open to anyone over the age of 21. A coach bus departs Derry at Hood Commons parking lot at 7 a.m. with bus pickups scheduled at senior complexes at 6:30 a.m.
The cost is $30 for Derry residents, $35 for nonresidents. Register at the Parks and Recreation office at Veterans Hall, 31 West Broadway.
Snowmobile course offered
Parks and Recreation, Derry Pathfinders and New Hampshire Fish and Game will host the annual snowmobile safety course on Dec. 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Alexander-Carr Lodge, 28 Pierce Ave.
Participants must be 12 years old by April 2012. Those under 18 must attend with an adult.
Registration for Derry residents is underway. Nonresidents can register beginning Oct. 1. Advance registration is required. Space is limited. Call 432-6136 or contact the Derry Pathfinders at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Community Center has a lot to offer
The Marion Gerrish Community Center turns 40 years old this year. The center offers a wide variety of programs and activities for adults and seniors in the Greater Derry area. The center is located at 39 West Broadway.
Games and cards, including bridge, are offered on Mondays at 12:30 p.m.. Cards are played on Wednesdays, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.; bingo happens on Thursdays at 1 p.m.; and the cribbage group meets on Fridays at 9 a.m.
