Garden club to meet
The Derry Garden Club meets Nov. 2 at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Derry at 10 a.m.

Harvest supper planned
St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 63 East Broadway, hosts its annual Harvest Supper event on Nov. 2. There are two seatings, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
The menu includes turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, peas and carrots, squash, rolls, homemade pies and beverages. The cost is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and children 3 to 12. Children under 3 eat free.

Upper Room hosts ‘Red Carpet’
The Upper Room hosts its 11th annual Family Matters auction event on Nov. 2 at 6 p.m. at Promises to Keep, 199 Rockingham Road.
The “Live From the Red Carpet” event features food, games, live and silent auction and much more. Tickets are $35 per person and must be purchased in advance. Call for information at 472-4893.
Discovering stone walls at library
Derry Public Library welcomes New England stone wall author and expert Kevin Gardner for an informative presentation on Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. Gardner is the author of “The Granite Kiss” and will discuss the history and creation of these rocky walls dotting the area’s landscape.
In addition to “The Granite Kiss,” Gardner has written poems, songs and essays. He is a writer and producer for New Hampshire Public Radio and is a two-time winner of the New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters Golden Mic Award for feature writing.

Scenic road hearing is Nov. 7
The Planning Board hosts a public hearing on a proposal for trimming and removing trees on English Range road by New Hampshire Electric Cooperative at its meeting Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. in the municipal center’s third-floor meeting room.
Also on the agenda that night is a hearing to review a plan to expand Pete’s Scoop ice cream business on Route 28 to include a driving range and additional parking.

Fund reaches out to help
The Derry Community Fund is reaching out this year to those in need and is accepting applications through Nov. 8 at the Humane Services office at the municipal center, 14 Manning St.
Donations of food and new toys are welcome. Groups and local organizations are also invited to “adopt” a family this year. Food donations can be dropped off at the Marion Gerrish Community Center, 39 West Broadway. New, unwrapped toys will be collected at the center beginning Nov. 26. For information, call 548-6060.
Kids Coop presents ‘Annie Get Your Gun’
Kids Coop Theatre presents the musical “Annie Get Your Gun” on Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 10 at 1 and 7 p.m. at the Derry Opera House, 29 West Broadway.
