Trinity youth center opens

Trinity Assembly of God’s Youth Center is now open.

The church at 53 North Main St., offers the center program Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons with safe time to do homework, enjoy games and snacks.

Book sale planned Saturday

The Friends of the Derry Libraries book sale will be held Sept. 21, Derryfest day, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the library on East Broadway.

All books displayed outside will be $2 a bag. Buy a bag for $2 and fill it with your choices. There are many children’s books and great buys for home-schoolers.

Swap books at Birch Heights

Birch Heights retirement facility on Kendall Pond Road, hosts a “Bring A Book, Swap A Book” event on Sept. 21 at 11 a.m.

Those attending are invited to select a book and swap a book in return. Large-print books are highly desirable. Each person donating a book will be entered into a raffle to receive homemade cookies. For information, call Birch Heights at 425-7755.

Bake sale set at Mack’s

Community Caregivers of Greater Derry hosts a bake sale on Sept. 22 at Mack’s Apples, 230 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. The sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Donations are welcome and can be brought to the Episcopal Church of St. Peter on Sept. 21 from 1 to 4 p.m. or drop off items on sale day. Call 432-0877 for information.

Recreation plans fall programs

Derry Parks and Recreation offers a long list of sports and other activities for the fall. There are events and activities for all ages.
