---- — Turkey ‘cheer’ planned for Nov. 17

Derry Salem Elks, 39 Shadow Lake Road in Salem, hosts its annual turkey cheer event on Nov. 17 at 5 p.m.

Dinner includes franks and beans; raffles follow.

Holiday parade steps off on W. Broadway Nov. 24

The Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual holiday parade in Derry on Nov. 24 at 1 p.m. The parade begins on West Broadway and winds down toward Crystal Avenue and up to Hood Commons, where it will end.

Citizen of the Year Janet Conroy and Business of the Year Mr. Steer meat market will be featured special guests during the parade. More than 80 marching units and floats will march, including Pinkerton Academy and Londonderry High School bands.

Local Rotarians will walk the parade route collecting nonperishable food items to support local food pantries.

Crafters needed for shopping night

Local crafters and artisans are invited to sell their wares at the South Range Elementary School’s “Kids Go Shopping” night on Nov. 30 from 5 to 8 p.m. Sell your wares to parents while the kids do their shopping. The night includes crafters, kids shopping fun, baked goods and a book fair. For information call 432-6072.

VFW hosts senior dinner on Sunday

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1617 in Derry hosts a senior dinner on Nov. 18 at noon at the post, 18 Railroad Ave.
