PETS OF THE WEEK: Puppies seek homes

They are bundles of fur that will need new homes soon. Puppies that were left orphaned at the Derry dog pound are thriving and will soon be up for adoption through the Greater Derry Humane Society.

The 10-week-old puppies are being fostered by the Kodesh family in Derry and are featured as this week’s Pets of the Week.

The jet black pups are a mixed breed, possibly a Newfoundland mix. They are getting all their shots and tests to get them ready for new homes.

“They are so friendly and so well adjusted,” Humane Society director Barbara McCarthy said. “They also love to be held.”

McCarthy said the puppies were due to be spayed and neutered soon.

The Humane Society will take calls now from people who may be interested in adoption.

Adoption includes obedience lessons.
