---- — DERRY — Students at West Running Brook Middle School are preparing for their production of “Beauty and the Beast Jr.” complete with talking teapots, a scary beast, and plenty of dancing utensils and plates.

The show is set for Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. and again Feb. 2 at 4 p.m. at the Stockbridge Theatre at Pinkerton Academy

Young performers gave a quick musical preview to members of the Derry School Board at a meeting Jan. 22.

The show will feature students dressed in colorful costumes made by the school’s Stage Bear Productions parents and volunteers.

West Running Brook principal Leslie Saucier said the student actors are all successful both on the stage and off.

“They have all been members of the honor roll and are talented inside the classroom and outside as well,” she said.

School Board member Kevin Gordon said he was once a proud Stage Bear parent and said the upcoming production is something the school should be very proud of.

He credited the support of the parents and volunteers for helping make the shows a success.

Tickets for “Beauty and the Beast Jr.” are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and students. For information, call the school at 432-1250.
