---- — DERRY — Student musicians at Pinkerton Academy earned high marks for their talents in singing and playing instruments, and many will be heading to the New Hampshire All-State event in Concord in April.
Twenty-one musicians were selected to represent Pinkerton and will work with nationally known conductors during the 2013 event, set for April 13 at the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord.
Pinkerton students heading to All-State are:
All-State Band: Barbara Ste. Croix, flute; Natalie Kukshtel, oboe; Emily Costello and Alicia Alywar, clarinet; Adam Claussen, alto saxophone; Emma Blasczak, Hyungyu Lee and Michael Grimm, trumpet; Gannon Pond, trombone.
All-State Orchestra: Brianna Hoffman, piccolo; Michael Ralston, percussion; Gretchen Joki, violin.
All-State Women’s Choi: Sophia Shay, soprano; Alison Silva, Jillian Casavant and Rhianna Moyer, alto.
All-State Mixed Choir: Amanda Crow and Megan Cullinane, soprano; Katie Herron, Caroline Fleming and Adrianna Bridge, alto.
In addition to these honors, several Pinkerton students also performed during the 2013 Chamber All-State Music Festival held earlier this month at Timberlane Regional High School. Those performing were Barbara Ste. Croix, Natalie Kukshtel, Emily Costello, Emma Blasczak, Michael Ralston, Adam Claussen, Brianna Hoffman, Katie Herron and Caroline Fleming.
Claussen and Herron achieved the highest audition scores for their category.
Herron was selected to represent New Hampshire at the All Eastern Music Festival featuring the best high school musicians from 13 eastern states from Maryland to Maine.
