DERRY — The Greater Derry/Londonderry Chamber of Commerce will host an infrastructure summit, "Roads to the Future," Feb. 12 at the Derry Municipal Center. The summit runs from 8 to 10 a.m.
The keynote speaker is New Hampshire Gov. John Lynch. A panel will include Andre Garron, town of Londonderry; George Sioras, town of Derry; George Campbell, New Hampshire Department of Transportation; and Jack Munn representing SNRPC. Jack Dowd will serve as forum moderator.
Other participants will include state senators, representatives, airport management representatives, and municipal engineers and planning department officials from both Derry and Londonderry.
The purpose of the summit is to inform the business community of state and municipal infrastructure projects in the area and educate businesses on all road and traffic issues as economic development plans move forward.
The forum also will serve to help build connections for businesses to the decision-makers on projects in local communities.
Other discussion topics include Exit 4A, the widening of Interstate 93, and the planned expansion of the Route 28 and TIF district in Derry.
According to Chamber member Bernie Ross, of Londonderry-based Ross Wealth Planning Group, a forum like this can be instrumental in educating communities on where economic development is heading, and its impact on local business and residents.
"We just want it to be a forum to address what's going on," Ross said.
Admission is $5 for Chamber members, $10 for nonmembers. The forum is presented by the Greater Derry/Londonderry Chamber of Commerce Government Connection Committee.
