Free movie shown just for seniors
The next free movie for seniors is set for June 28 at the Marion Gerrish Community Center, 39 West Broadway.
The movie this month is “Liar, Liar” and begins at noon. Free popcorn and soda will be provided.
Free suppers offered to Derry youth
Southern New Hampshire Services/Rockingham Community Action is offering its Summer Food Service Program to Derry youth, ages 18 and under, Monday through Friday, June 24 - Aug. 23. There will be no meals July 4 and 5. No pre-registration is required.
Meals must be consumed on site and will be served at the sites and times as follows: Fairways Apartments (residents only), 1 Forest Ridge Road, 4:15 to 5 p.m.; Franklin Village, 4 Laraway Court, 5:15 to 5:45 p.m.; Hood Park, 14 Rollins St., 6 to 6:30 p.m.

Library offers teen summer reading fun
Derry Public Library’s teen summer program is underway with a full schedule of activities including a Secret Societies Day on July 2 from 3:30 to 4:40 p.m. and an Underground Writers Group meeting July 3, 17, 31, and Aug. 14 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Salvation Army offers summer lunch
The Salvation Army begins its summer lunch program in Derry this week with food being offered every week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The program will offer free, nutritious food to children while they are on summer break from school.
The weekly schedule is Tuesdays at the Fairways apartment complex and Thursdays at Hood Park. For information or to donate nonperishable food items call 434-7790.
Cool off at the beach or the Splashpad
It’s time to cool off in Derry with Gallien’s Beach open for the season and also the Splashpad at Don Ball Park off Humphrey Road.
The beach is located at Beaver Lake and is open to Derry residents and their guests. The Splashpad is free and open daily during the summer from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. weather permitting.
